About Us

Situated at Selside, just outside the market town of Kendal in the English Lake District, Poppy Farm is a traditional working farm set in a rural location with panoramic views.

Our site has twenty privately owned static caravans situated in a landscaped, fenced park suitable for relaxation and play and is typified by the call of the curlew on summer evenings.

We also have a holiday cottage, Little Crake Howe, available for holiday lettings.

The area is untroubled by mainstream tourists and is within 4 miles of the historic market town of Kendal, 8 miles from Windermere and 12 miles from the M6 junction 36.

It is ideal for easy country walking and touring the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Morecambe Bay and the Furness Peninsula (see Things to Do).

Poppy Farm Caravan Park

Poppy Farm Caravan Park is an attractive landscaped park exclusively for owner occupied static caravans.

The park nestles amidst unspoilt countryside, just outside the Lake District National Park, on the northern outskirts of Kendal. Poppy Farm is a traditional working farm in a rural location with panoramic views and is a tranquil retreat for those seeking peace and quiet and who simply wish to "get away from it all".

It is a wildlife haven and offers a home to numerous species of birds, owls, woodpecker aswell as squirrel, rabbit, deer and hedgehogs.  We have beef cattle and sheep with lambs which can been seen in the surrounding fields.

We, John and Hazel have owned the Park for over 20 years and along with our children Lorna, Alistair and Bradley constantly strive to provide a personal, friendly service.  Some of our customers have been with us since the site opened and their friends have joined them which is a testimony in itself.
